Meet Bobby Dues โFree Astrology Birth Chart Calculator
Explore your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs with the free MyCruncher Astrology Birth Chart Calculator. Enter your birth date, local birth time, and birthplace to generate a circular natal chart, planetary placements, Whole Sign houses, and major planetary aspects.
This calculator uses the Western tropical zodiac and provides brief traditional interpretations of your Big Three. Use the chart as a starting point for learning about astrology and personal reflection.
How to Calculate Your Birth Chart
- Enter your date of birth. Choose the month, day, and year recorded for your birth.
- Enter your local birth time. Check AM or PM carefully. If you do not know the time, select the unknown birth time checkbox.
- Find your birthplace. Type the city, click Find Birthplace, and select the matching city, state or region, and country. Typing a city alone does not confirm its coordinates or time zone.
- Generate your chart. Click Generate My Birth Chart once the astronomy engine is ready.
- Explore your results. Review the Big Three, circular wheel, planetary table, houses, aspects, and interpretations.
Enter the clock time recorded at the birthplace. The calculator converts that local time using the selected location’s time zone; you do not need to convert it to UTC yourself.
Understanding Your Birth Chart Results
Your Big Three: Sun, Moon, and Rising
The Big Three cards identify the zodiac signs containing the Sun, Moon, and Ascendant. The Ascendant is also called the Rising sign. The calculator shows each placement’s degree within its sign and includes a brief traditional interpretation.
Planetary Placements and the Zodiac Wheel
The placements table lists the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The circular wheel displays their positions around the zodiac. Planet labels may be spaced apart for readability; use the dots and the table to identify the calculated positions.
Whole Sign Houses
With a known birth time, the sign containing the Ascendant becomes the first house. The remaining signs form houses two through twelve in zodiac order. Each house covers one entire sign. The Ascendant degree is shown separately and does not have to fall at the beginning of the first house.
Major Planetary Aspects
Aspects compare the angular separation between two placements. This calculator checks conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. The displayed orb tells you how far the separation is from the exact aspect angle.
The allowed orbs are 7ยฐ for conjunctions and oppositions, 5ยฐ for sextiles, and 6ยฐ for squares and trines. These settings affect which aspects appear in the results.
Birth Chart Example
Try these sample inputs: July 15, 1990, at 12:00 PM in Los Angeles, California, United States. Leave the unknown birth time box unchecked and select Los Angeles from the birthplace search results.
Generate the chart to see all ten placements, the Big Three, and twelve Whole Sign houses. Then select unknown birth time and generate again to see how the calculator labels estimated positions and omits the Rising sign and houses.
For a simple house-reading example, a chart with Libra Rising places Libra in house one, Scorpio in house two, and Sagittarius in house three. This illustrates the Whole Sign method; it is not a prediction of the sample chart above.
Tips for Entering Your Birth Details
- Use the recorded time when available. Check a birth record or another reliable record rather than guessing.
- Select the actual birthplace. Use the city where you were born, even if you now live somewhere else.
- Check similar city names. Confirm the state or region and country before choosing a search result.
- Check the time setting. A change in birth time can change the Ascendant degree and may change signs or house assignments.
- Compare matching settings. When comparing another chart, use the same birth details, tropical zodiac, and Whole Sign house system.
Birth Chart Calculator FAQs
Can I calculate a birth chart without a birth time?
Yes. Select the unknown birth time checkbox. The calculator uses 12:00 noon at the birthplace as an approximation and omits the Rising sign and houses. All placements are estimates for that day; even the Sun or Moon sign may differ if a sign boundary is crossed.
Why does my result show a different time in UTC?
UTC is the time reference used for the calculations. A local birth time and its UTC equivalent describe the same moment using different time zones. The UTC line does not mean your entered time was replaced with a different birth time.
What happens during a daylight saving clock change?
The calculator checks whether the entered local time exists in the selected time zone. If a clock change repeated that time, it asks you to choose the earlier or later occurrence. If the time was skipped, it asks you to verify the recorded time.
Why might another birth chart calculator give different results?
Check the birth time, AM or PM, selected city, time zone, zodiac system, house system, and aspect orbs. Differences in coordinates, astronomical methods, historical time-zone data, or rounding can also affect a comparison.
How precise are the results?
The calculator uses astronomical positions, approximate city-center coordinates, and the browser’s historical time-zone information. Its usefulness depends on the supplied birth details. Historical time-zone records have limitations, and Ascendant calculations may be unavailable at extreme polar locations. Displayed decimal places do not guarantee the same level of accuracy in the original birth record.
Does Share Result include my birth details?
Yes. Share Result requires you to check the consent box and creates a link containing your birth date, time or unknown-time setting, and birthplace details. Anyone with that link can read those details and recreate the chart. The link is not encrypted. Share Calculator and Copy Link share only the calculator page address.
Do Favorites and Recently Used save my birth chart?
No. Those features save the calculator’s name and page address in your browser, not your birth details or chart results.
Are the interpretations scientific predictions?
No. The interpretations describe traditional astrological associations for entertainment and personal reflection. They are not scientifically validated personality assessments or predictions of future events.
